Kiss anyone?

Mentos has a new interactive site called mentoskisscam that allows users to be kissed online by a sexy female or male model. It requires that the user has a webcam, but who hasn't got one these days? I guess you could call it a guerrilla marketing spin of sorts on second life.

Awareness guerrilla marketing

It is a shame to not see the numbers of hits the following video on dothetest.co.uk has generated, as it seems to go around like a viral marketing storm. It has popped up on all kinds of forums I frequent multiple times and it seems that all my friends have forwarded it to me several times too. So go on, do the testt.

Yes we can

The Barack Obama campaign has a nice viral video campaign on youtube called "Yes we can." Since it was added on February 2, this video has been viewed over 4 million times. It is a great example of how inspiration sparks creativity in order to push positive change. Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and several other artists such as Herbie Hancock, Esthero, John Legend, Ed Kowalczyk and Tracee Ellis Ross, made this project happen.

Moveon.org has been using this video and urging people to get out and vote by using the video virally.

Onitsuka Tiger Land

Onitsuka Tiger has had a few interesting campaign in the last year and this one is very nicely done too. It looks like it was quite expensive to make but I would expect this one to get some nice viral marketing playtime in addition to the regular channels it is destined for.

Dude

This commercial for Bud Light is proof that sentences as means of communication are way overrated. With 1,791,441 views in roughly 2 months on youtube it also is proof that viral marketing works when the subject matter is good.

And just in time for the Superbowl season, we have a football version.

Apple ad turned viral

if you visit the website of the New York Times you are likely to stumble upon a well executed advertisement from Apple. In a play on an older interactive ad, PC actor John Hodgman reacts to the Wall Street Journal quote in the banner ad above and tries to change the pro-Apple ad by pasting "NOT" at the end of "Leopard is better and faster than Vista". This ad is now traveling like wildfire around the internet giving Apple (the advertiser) and the NY Times (the advertising vehicle) a great viral marketing boost.

No gorilla here

Sometimes a creative guerrilla marketing campaign can ride very nicely on the coat tails of an original marketing concept or guerrilla marketing idea. Here Wonderbra spoofs the original Cadbury viral youtube gorilla ad with a much less hairy drummer.

Lego guerrilla marketing

The news world is buzzing about a 2.50m (7'4") giant Lego man who has "mysteriously" washed up on a beach in Holland. People seemed to be puzzled where the giant Lego man came from. Guerrilla marketing possibly? :-)

Parachuting coffee to consumers

Samples of Coffees of Hawaii arrived via "parachute" at various nice neighborhoods and in some busy touristy areas. This guerrilla marketing campaign came with a friendly reminder that coffee from www.coffeesofhawaii.com can get shipped to the homes of customers at the frequency and quantity they desire.

Simpsonize me

Over the weekend I got several simpsonized images of various friends and thus I now know that this viral marketing campaign for Burger King is really getting around. Simpsonizeme.com is a small Burger King microsite where you can turn an image of yourself into a Simpsons character. As a fan of the Simpsons I had to get myself simpsonized too.

This is not good

Based on this recent news report, it seems that some of our Guerrilla Communication ideas have made someone very mad indeed. We may have to go underground.

Or are we just talking clever guerrilla marketing for a new TV show?

Kleenex makes it personal

Kleenex redecorated a few public restrooms to make the users feel a bit "at home" and promote a new style of travel Kleenex. This is one of the few occasions when people take pictures of public restrooms because they found the experience to be positive.

Consumers guerrilla marketing for you

When consumers take marketing in their own hands and design ads and marketing for you, then you know that you have a great brand. Check out this great Mac iPhone video that showed up on youtube. It did not come from the Mac folks, but it looks so great it should be an official ad.
Expect to see it soon on website you visit, or an an e-mail friends will forward to you.

Great viral marketing

This is a great execution of an attention getting urban marketing for Nationwide Insurance. Plus it is done so well that the pics of this urban billboard are traveling around the internet like a virus.

Ray Ban guerrilla marketing

The following video on youtube is a very good example of great guerrilla marketing / viral marketing for Ray Ban sun glasses. Very nicely done and only the "Never Hide" slogan in the dirty window identifies it as a Ray Ban ad. Plus of course the youtube title gives it away. Over 2,000,000 views.

Integrating a viral marketing campaign

Samsung Mobile has an interesting new viral video on youtube to promote their new ultra thin millimetres phones. The video is done extremely well and will surely spread like a virus throughout the internet, but it would be smart if Samsung would have integrated the final destination site a bit more to the video. The static millimetresmatter.com site explains the video, but then goes straight to the commercial Samsung Europe site where no reference to the video can be found.

Grolsch takes it to the street

Grolsch takes an interesting interactive urban marketing approach to promote the new look of the Grolsch bottle. "What is behind the refrigerator door? Well, let's look."
Very nice execution indeed.
Plus courtesy of viral marketing, the video is now spreading around the world.
