The skinny on Ahlens

It turns out that these average sized mannequins belong to the Ahlens clothing brand in Sweden and that is a smart and cool way to connect to your actual client base and potentially unintended great self marketing. These though may not be average in the obese USA, but in Europe that seems to make sense. Big thumbs up for Ahlens.

  1. I really enjoyed this post. I'm not skinny by any means and it's always hard to go into a store and look at the models who look better in the clothes than I do. It's because they're sticks. It's really nice to see that stores are showing realistic images of girls rather than an unhealthy one. This reminds me of the United Colors of Benetton ads about race that were borderline risque because of their boldness. I definitely think it's important to promote a healthy body image, I am glad to see that this store can use that to it's advantage.

    1. It is indeed a model that should be followed. Hopefully some stores in North America get the memo .
