Oil and water do not mix

We know that oil an water do not mix, but that really doesn't help the folks in Louisiana who get dealt that blow of the BP oil spill. To ensure that something good comes from this disaster, artist Anthony Burrill has created a limited edition "oil and water do not mix" poster which was screen printed with oil from the Louisiana coast. All benefits go to CRCL (Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana)

Simple and beautiful work "in oil"

MINI getaway

MINI of Sweden's guerrilla marketing effort in Stockholm had people hunting for a virtual MINI and then claiming it, if they got there first. But claiming it does not mean owning it, gamers had to keep other participants from coming too close to them.

How would you like to be hunted?

Every state has one or two ...

This isn't really about Southbend and their pubic schools. Apparently every state has a few school districts where items go up without proofreading. Should we really expect more? Let us just hope that the teachers were not involved.

Very cool Kiwi VW ad

Milk run is a 1 minute ad for VW New Zealand by director Sam Peacocke and Rokkit productions. Nothing really about guerrilla marketing, just beautiful work we appreciate.

Surprise, surprise

Somehow we are especially fond of the Guerilla Burgers place in the heart of London's West End, even though we have physically never been there. But we don't have to set a foot inside to appreciate the brand and their non traditional marketing efforts. Go Guerilla Burger.

BAM

Very smart and simple piece of guerrilla marketing for the Toronto Academy of Karate. Some idiotic folks might have recommended all kinds of silly things including a youtube channel and related stuff, but why reach far when the answer (and the customer base) is so close.

Monkey business in London

To celebrate the Bicycle Film Festival in London, Julius the Paul Frank monkey distributed bicycle seat covers for Londoner cyclists. If you saw him you could take a photo with him and if you didn't he saved you from getting a wet ass. What is not to like about this little guerrilla marketing activity?

Going to the sheep

We always laud unique business cards and the one below for the Farm in Door County, Wisconsin is another fine example of clever design and execution. The card is actually older, but we still like it. Once you touch that card you really want to go to the farm to pet the real thing. Saying Meh, Meh, Meh here is actually a good thing.

95% ain't bad

How many parts of your car can be recycled, and what is the total percentage of your car that can find a new life after its original life? Volkswagen in Germany claims that the new VW Polo is 96% recyclable and came up with the nice guerrilla marketing idea to have a VW Polo recycling container next to other more common recycling ones.

Tiny, tiny, tiny

The Nokia N8 film below is claimed to be the world's smallest stop animation and was seemingly taken on a Nokia N8. We actually don't care what it was taken with, we just laud this beautiful effort. Kudos.

But now go out and buy a Nokia N8.

IKEA 3D reality

We have learned over time that in marketing much is about perception and not always about reality. So it is no big surprise that in this very cool guerrilla marketing effort by IKEA it is all about what you see and not what it actually is. Nice 3D chalk art transformed the Sydney Harbor area into an outdoor IKEA kitchen.

Hey, what are you doing in my kitchen?
