Fliege, Fliege komm mal her

Tesa is well known for their various tapes, but they also make a fly net and a construction safety net makes a great guerrilla marketing tool for that product. Fliegengitter is the German word for fly net but clearly this net stops various other pesky insects too.

Don't drive sleepy

We all have at one point or another driven sleepy and know that it is a very dangerous activity. But most of us don't take it serious enough to avoid going down that path. The ThaiHealth Don't Drive Sleepy Project addresses this issue with a few very memorable ads.

Taking flight

Norburn Model Aircraft Supply is a British Columbia radio control aircraft and helicopter shop and they recently got new business cards that can take fight - sort of.
The printed and laser die cut balsa wood card can be turned into a small glider and with a bit of skill launched into the hair of the person in the cubicle next to you.

Very nice idea and execution.

The swim off

Pro triathletes Julie Dibens and Mirinda Carfrae recently had a swim off (with a twist) after some trash talking on twitter and facebook. 2007 Ironman 70.3 Champion Mirinda Carfrae got to swim the 100 meters freestyle, while Julie Dibens had to do the same distance using the backstroke. While not set out to be a grand guerrilla marketing scheme, it ends up working nicely along those lines for the Flatirons Athletic Club, swim suit maker TYR and the sport of triathlon itself.

Fun with golf

Apparently no one sells Peugeots in the Netherlands cheaper than Van Zwienen and thus you seemingly can use your Peugeot in ways you might not if you had spent more money. Plus if golfing were this way, we'd surely play too.

FREE isn't always good

There are very few things in life which are FREE, but many of us still hunt for those elusive free items. So what is wrong with a FREE lollipop? Nothing really, but in this case it turns out to be a little guerrilla marketing effort for Syphilis awareness. Once you unwrap that "lollipop" it turns out you got a condom and an in your face warning. Syphilis is actually FREE too, but Syphilis sucks.

Periodic table fun

Oxford Science Park is a joint venture of Magdalen College, Oxford and Prudential a was designed as a hub for science technology and business. To promote the Oxford Science Park, various taxis and buses were wrapped with the periodic time table. These very cool looking taxis are attention getters for sure and remind us a bit of Piet Mondrian and monopoly.

It is all about the label

A clever little address label in the shape of the car, well, a Renault Clio to be specific, was used on the cover of Veja magazine. Add to that the Renault logo and the slogan "Now you know that Clio is for you" and you got an interesting new approach to reaching customers.

Hit them hard

So you really want to watch the United Football League for a few weeks without being interrupted by work or a spouse. Get someone to hit you with a baseball bat or crow bar on the kneecaps, seems to be the suggestion of this UFL ad. Ouch.

Do you want some more of that?
