A closer look at guerrilla marketing and non traditional marketing concepts from around the world and a great platform to feature our own guerrilla marketing efforts.
With the iPhone4 now in consumers hands it was only a matter of time before we would see the first film shot and edited on the new lust gadget. Michael Koerbel and the crew at Majek Pictures did exactly that with "Apple of My Eye" before most folks even had a chance to figure out how their new phone actually works. Now let the flood of consumer guerrilla marketing efforts for the iPhone and themselves begin.
If lions and zebras can get along then why shouldn't we all get along? Apparently it is all about attitude and positive thinking. So next time you on a trip and end up in a shady neighborhood, embrace the person who looks most dangerous too you. Just be sure you have Traveler's Insurance.
Interesting business cards are still a great way to promote a business, service or product and that won't change any time soon, despite technological developments along the lines of bump. Carlos Amodeo of Tam Cargo in São Paulo, Brazil seems to understand that and with the help of agency Y&R he now has a good guerrilla marketing item in a small package - and a business card of course.
To promote their VitaFresh refrigerator technology and the claim that items stay fresh longer, Bosch is featuring some interesting items in that campaign. For some reason I am now very hungry for a Sabertooth Filet, or maybe not.
With all the interesting PR Bavaria Beer recently received at the FIFA World Cup in South Africa for their guerrilla marketing activities, we thought we should give them a little shout out too. Go Bavaria go, or maybe just Proost.
Pilot lets you now experience hand written emails through a new site that should be especially interesting to folks with nice penmanship, and maybe less so to people who can't even decipher their own writing. S go and surprise a loved one with a nice email!
CBS sports worked seemingly very hard to get NBA super cool dude Steve Nash to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Maybe not exactly the way one would expect but hey, Nash isn't very needy. Give him a gluten free bagel and he is good to go. Follow the adventures of Steve Nash here or maybe on various guerrilla marketing blogs. :-)
It is good that Steve Nash isn't a high maintenance person
We all know life is more fun in the fast lane and that is especially true on the Autobahn in Germany, unless of course there is a traffic jam. So VW duplicated that fast lane Autobahn fun with a Fast Lane slide at the Alexanderplatz subway entrance in Berlin.
Volkswagens apparently only go fast one way / downhill. :-)
A quick FYI for Americans, the fast lane isn't for SUVs, minivans and pickups to hang out. :-)
We are obviously supposed to desire a Sony Ericsson phone and various other products and services when we watch freediver Guillaume Nery descend into Dean’s Blue Hole, the 2nd deepest blue hole in the world at 202 meters (663 feet) on a single breath. But somehow air, air, air is all we can think about. :-)
A stunning video nonetheless.
Nery isn't even in a hurry when he reaches the bottom of Dean's Blue Hole
Billboard Magazine in Sao Paulo, Brazil let people in some night clubs dial a digital billboard to show what they are made of. Users picked musical influences in red, blue and green and these snapshot were then uploaded to flickr. Very nice guerrilla marketing stuff indeed.
The new Apple iPhone 4 has a feature called Facetime and it'll allow people to really communicate with folks on the other side of the country or the globe face to face, as long as all parties involved are on Wi-Fi. Did we really need more convincing that we want to get the new iPhone? The video below is directed by Sam Mendes.
Well, did you shed a few tears while watching this?
So MINI USA has challenged Porsche USA to a race at the Road Atlanta track on June 21st. The MINI Cooper S versus the Porsche 911 Carrera S, a car with more than twice the horsepower of the Cooper S. The car forums are already buzzing with chatter about this audatious challenge. What does MINI USA have up their sleeves? Is there some trick play going on? We think it is possibly just a nice marketing concept. :-)
In addition to a facebook page along those lines, MINI USA also placed an ad in the NY Times.
At this point the author has to reveal that he drives a MINI Cooper S.
What do you get with a balloon and a bunch of Dyson air multiplier fans? Some real entertainment value and most likely the peace of mind that the Dyson fan won't hurt things you care about. Now how long before we see someone or something climbing through the Dyson?
So much fun, so few Dyson air mulipliers in a home
Shut Up Already was the topic of last night's Beancast marketing podcast. Bob Knorpp had assembled Jonah Bloom of Breaking Media, Duane Forrester of Microsoft and Angela Natividad of Hypios and Adverve fame and yours truly to discuss the BP PR nightmare, social media spending, online shopping love or not, twitter ads and much more.
When you shower with Axe Rise Up shower gel in the morning you never know what else you might rise. So do watch this French guy closely to see what else might rise.
Beware of the poison apple, because even a super hero like Flash might fall victim to this very seductive fruit. We snagged one of those shirts from woot and look very much forward to have it in our hands. But we do feel bad for Flash. Godspeed.
